This painting is a studio composistion ... it does not exist. I had no sketch or photo but I wanted to paint so I just started on a small piece of paper with no idea but to maybe have some trees and a stream and make up the picture as I went along. When I was mostly finished I thought it might be interesting to try and show the bottom of the stream through the water. After I did this I realized that there was no reason for the bottom to show in a moving stream so I added the big foreground rock to make quiet water downstream. The painting is on Wallis Museum grade paper and is 9X12 inches.
